$1,100 Summer Series Event 2
Day 1c Completed
After three flights, a few million chips, and some crazy action, players who bagged are now in the money and ready to battle it out for glory in Event #2: $1,100 No Limit Hold’em at the PokerStars Summer Series at Live! Hotel and Casino Philadelphia.
The day started off hot with 118 entrants before cards were even in the air. By the time late registration had closed a few things happened… 347 players joined for their last shot at finding a bag for Day 2, the prize pool hit the milestone of over doubling the guarantee to $685,440, and players got involved in some sick hands. The total entries topped out at 714 for the whole tournament with a total of 44 players bagging chips to move on to Day 2 from Flight 1c.
There were multiple players who put their chips to work but it can’t be denied that one player jumped well ahead of the rest. Daniel Buzgon (1,692,000) was quiet for most of the day leading up to an insane hand where he got all the chip in the middle during a million-chip pot with just an over pair. He would then go runner-runner, hitting a straight to scoop and score two knockouts. After that he was seen calling multiple all-ins and bumping his already massive chip-stack up a few hundred thousand more before night's end.
This flight still brought out some other massive stacks to take into Day 2. Among the chip leaders were Johanssy Joseph (1,004,000) who played the last hand of the night and did everyone a favor by bursting the bubble, Robert Marquette (668,0000) who was seen in a hand at the beginning of the day putting the pressure on, and William Corvino (593,000) who was involved in a three-bet pot late in the day where he flopped a boat and got some great river value.

Unfortunately, he was not able to find a bag but could appear next weekend for Event #3: $2,200 No Limit Hold’em.
With all the opening flights wrapped up, Day 2 will begin on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. local time. It is safe to say that Event #2 at the PokerStars Summer Series has been a massive success. All that is left to do is crown a champion!

The action moved quick and players are now on the bubble.
A few players folded and action was on Melinda Harris who took a moment before moving all in for 65,000 and her tournament life. The action moved to a player in the cutoff who put in a flat call and the remaining players folded.
The cards hit their backs.
Melinda Harris: A♣9♣
Cutoff: 7♠7♥
It was a standard flip until the dealer peeled off the 8♣7♦J♥ flop and bottom set jumped into the lead. The K♣ turn brought Harris a lot more outs in the form of a combo draw. Right on time the Q♣ landed on the river giving Harris the nuts and a new lease on life in the tournament.
This double was exactly what she needed as they are just four players away from the money bubble.

Action was joined on a flop of 8♠6♠9♥.
The small blind checked, middle position checked, and then action was on Daniel Buzgon in late position who bet 26,000. The small blind flatted and then action was back on middle position. They didn't think for long before jamming about 325,000 into the middle.
Buzgon went into the tank. He went back and forth but eventually he announced he was also all in.
The small blind then also went into the tank. After a few moments they put in the chips and just like that they had a million chip pot.
Middle Position: Q♣8♣
Small Blind: 9♣9♦
Daniel Buzgon: J♣J♠
Buzgon was in rough shape with just an over-pair against top set. The turn brought a 7♦ and then the river landed the insane 10♦ giving Buzgon the runner runner straight, a double knockout, and the first million chip stack of the tournament.
