Action has concluded in Day 2 of the the $10,300 High Roller at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) hosted by Resorts World Las Vegas. Day 2 saw 32 additional competitors register before the start of the first level, increasing the total entries to 170. Only 13 players will return for Day 3 on Sunday, all of whom are already in the money.

The remaining players will be battling it out for a piece of the $1,649,000 prize pool, with the first place prize of $385,750 going to the winner. Sam Soverel emerged as overwhelming chip leader, bagging an impressive 1,630,000.

Soverel chipped up steadily throughout the day, and propelled his stack to the top of the leaderboard before the dinner break. Once players returned, Soverel didn't let off the gas and used his big stack to apply pressure near the money bubble. He looks to continue to leverage his position as the chip leader as the final table approaches on Sunday.

Nicholas Seward was the only other player to eclipse the one million chip mark and finsihed the day with 1,000,000 on the dot. David Stamm rounds out the top three with 775,000.

Notable Eliminations

David Peters made an early exit when he found himself short-stacked and all in with ace-six against the queen-nine of Wagner Wysotchanski. Darren Rabinowitz got it all in with a big draw versus Ryan Hohner's top pair, but couldn't get there.

Soverel began his ascent atop the counts by knocking out James Collopy when he flopped a boat against Collopy's overpair. Erik Seidel exited in brutal fashion when his pocket aces were cracked by Shannon Shorr's pocket queens.

Jeremy Becker ran into the ace-king of Hohner in a button versus big blind spot and was unable to improve with his ace-deuce. Nadya Magnus got it in good but her pocket kings fell to the ace-king of Justin Vaysman.

John Racener was eliminated just a few spots shy of the money when he lost a flip with king-queen against the pocket fours of Ernest Bush.

Pocket nines proved to be Martin Raus' kryptonite, as he lost several flips with them leading up to his elimination on the stone bubble.

Scott Seiver locked up a cash but his pocket eights ran into Brian Altman's pocket jacks towards the end of the night with 16 players left.

The last knockout of the evening was PokerStars Ambassador Alejandro Lococo, who exited in 14th with just a couple hands left to play.
