Hand-for-hand play broke on the 14th hand of Level 17 after Atanas Malinov took a brutal beat and had his aces cracked, falling short of the money.
It was looking like Phil Hellmuth would add another WSOP cash to his decorated resume, but he fell short in 78th place, two off the money after Aram Zobian stacked him in a blind versus blind battle.
Some notables that entered the field falling short of the money include Alex Foxen, Daniel Negreanu, Justin Saliba, Bryn Kenney, Phil Ivey, Stephen Chidwick, Jason Koon and Shannon Shorr
