Obreshkov and Owen Headline Final 24 in Event #4: $800 DOUBLE CHANCE
In a flash, the first day of Event #4 DOUBLE CHANCE in the 2021 GGPoker Online WSOP was over, as a field of 1,643 was whittled all the way down to just 24 players. Leading the way is Stoyan "UncleToni" Obreshkov, who will be bringing 7,121924 chips into the finals.
He got a good chunk of that on the last hand of the evening when he flopped a full house. Obreshkov is a familiar name in the poker circuit and finished in seventh place in the GGPoker WSOP $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em - International Main Event for $160,512 when they played in the King's Resort.
Adam Owen (4,182,692) is in the top five behind Obreshkov, and other notables still alive for this bracelet include Malcolm Trayner (4,450,624), Ivan Deyra (3,255,820), Tyler Hancock (1,447,448), Leonard Maue (1,441,763), and recent bracelet winner Bartlomiej "chester20o" Swieboda (627,762)
Plenty of big names came and went before the money was hit in this event, including Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moorman, Damian Salas, Bertrand Grospellier, Jeff Platt, and GGPoker Team Brazil member Felipe Ramos.
The action picks up once again on August 6th at 5 p.m. GMT, where the final 24 will play down to a winner. That player will turn a small investment of $800 into a first-place payday of $161,636, and the WSOP gold bracelet.
As always, PokerNews will be here to bring you all of the big hands, until a winner is decided, so come back then!
