Event #64: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold'em
Day 1c Completed
Day 1c, the third of four starting flights in Event 64: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold’em, has come to an end and 333 players have moved on to Day 2. The numbers aren’t official yet, but Ian Simpson appears to have bagged the most chips at the end of play, with Adam Daniel (1,078,000), Shaun McBride (938,000), Samad Razavi (926,000) and Ramiro Petrone also bagging impressive numbers.
The day started quicker than the previous two flights, with 975 players registered by the time the cards went in the air. Thanks to the unlimited re-entries format, that number ballooned to 2,830 by the time registration closed. That final number created a Day 1c prize pool of $2,261,736 and 425 players made the money, with a min-cash that was worth $1,332. Three players went out at the same time on the money bubble and split two pay spots, which, coincidentally, ended up being $888 apiece.
Due to the unlimited re-entries option numerous players, including notables Loni Harwood, Matt Stout, Glenn Lafaye, John Phan and 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson, came and went throughout the day, some of them more than once, and failed to cash. Pierre Neuville cashed but went out during one of the last hands of the night.
Notables moving on to Day 2 include Dan O’Brien (662,000) and a foursome of World Poker Tour (WPT) champions: Jesse Sylvia (292,000), Mike Shariati (224,000), Keven Stammen (153,000) and David Larson. They, along with the other 228 players that also moved on from Day 1c, will join the 209 players from the first two starting flights that have already punched their tickets to Day 2, which kicks off at noon local time on Monday, July 1st. The Pokernews team will be there to cover all of the crazy action from the Crazy Eights.

The players have bagged and tagged for the evening, and Day 1c of $888 Crazy Eights is now done. A full recap will follow shortly.
The tournament clock has been stopped and the dealers have been instructed to deal four more hands. Those players that are still remaining will bag and tag for the day and return to play on Monday, July 1st at noon local time.
Three players went out on the money bubble and will be chopping up $2,664 between them, which, on an interesting note, is exactly $888 each.
The dealers have just been told to deal one hand and then stand up.
It has just been announced that this will be the last level of the day.

Among the many tank-fold situations a hand did manage to take place.
Action folded around to the button-player and he raised it to 16,000. Akshay Nasa defended from his big blind. After both players checked through to the river on a board of , Nasa said, "I guess you don't have king-queen" and tabled his hand, which was good.
