The chips have been bagged and tagged and the room has now emptied with 208 exhausted competitors heading home for a well deserved 40 winks. Among them are a smattering of big names, the likes of John Juanda, Marcel Luske and 2009 Player of the Year Jeff Lisandro all eying up that shiny, gold bracelet and the small matter of $208,682. Also surviving the opening day is one Tom "durrrr" Dwan, the online titan not regarded as particularly apt in seven-card stud, but still capable of scaring a few pros if he were to go deep.
However, despite the foreboding shadow of poker's giants, it's Odette Tremblay who's risen highest, her rampage over today's event leaving her the end-of-day chip leader with 43,700. But snapping on her heels like an alligator with toothache are David Levi and Daniel Studer who have 43,400 and 42,600 respectively.

We just caught the tail end of the action, but from what we gathered during the briefest of glimpses at the cards before they were whisked away, Odette Tremblay made trip queens and her opponent failed to make a high hand better than that or any kind of low, meaning that Tremblay scooped the pot.
A big stack before the hand, this one put Tremblay up to 45,000 and the chip lead.
David Sklanksy is back up to 4,000 after doubling through with a flush and eight low. His opponent reluctantly called seventh street after being two-bet on sixth, but mucked upon seeing the bad news.

There was a massive amount of chips in the middle and three players in the hand. The gentleman known only as J.W. (we asked him his name repeatedly during Event #21, and every time he told us, "J.W. is fine,") was all in by the time we caught up with the action, and the cards were flipped over.
David Levi's queens full of deuces was good for the high and thus the entire side pot that he and Player 2 had amassed, as well as half the main pot. He was up to 33,000 after that. J.W. meanwhile took the other half for the low to stay in the game.

Although Mizrachi led sixth street, receiving two callers, he checked on seventh, triggered a bet from Hoivold. Both opponents folded, although Juanda seemed the more tempted of the two.

Out of the notable players in the field, Dutch Boyd is perhaps doing the best with a sumptuous 27,000. Having said that, he just lost a pot against Scott Celemnts' 
, Boyd calling bets on fifth and sixth street with

Men Nguyen was very close to pushing up the poker daisies during the final level. He survived with just a pair of eights to claim half the pot.
