Day 1cd Completed
After 2023’s 1,577 entrants, the 2024 Winamax Poker Open Bratislava Main Event attracted a total of 1,516 players, here at Banco Casino in Bratislava. 635 players have been recorded only on Day 1c, the third and largest flight of the tournament. But out of this field, only 252 managed to find a bag tonight.
All eyes were on Adrian Mateos on the bubble to know if he was going to be eliminated out of the money. Under the spotlights of the feature table, he managed to qualify for Day 2 with only 34,000… but not his teammate Joao Vieira. The Portuguese player is Day 1c’s bubble-boy, running into jacks with ace-four suited.
Gino Cardenia was more focused on building a big stack than on his tournament’s life today, because he ended up as the chip leader with 943,000 chips. He is followed by Benoit Kozubski, while Jordan Dumas takes third place with 851,000.

French actor Frédéric Chau was running hot today, cracking kings with a full house for example. Thanks to this good run, he bagged the sixth stack of Day 1c (778,000). Three times Winamax event finalist Matthieu Lamagnere also holds a big stack (550,000), along with Nicolas Plantin (532,000), Nemo Israel (513,000) who burst the bubble and streamer Christopher Marcadet (381,000).
Mikael “Shishi” Berrio “had a good day on the feature table”, qualifying with 381,000, more than the average stack. Day 1b’s bubble-boy Eduardo Riego (226,000), Abel Pruchon (212,000), Camille Lemardeley (209,000) and Timur Margolin (114,000) have smaller stacks, but nothing compared to Mateos and his tablemate Guy Lavon (21,000).
While the bubble was bursting on Day 1c, Day 1d Turbo came to an end with 27 remaining players out of 160 entrants. Among these players, Dylan Patanchon has the biggest stack with 849,000 chips, way ahead of Jakub Bosko (513,000) and Tamer Ibrahim (480,000).
Kevin Dedner (467,000), Jonathan Pastore (446,000), Mohamed Henni (318,000), Malcolm Franchi (289,000), 2024 WSOP Main Event finalist Malo Latinois (288,000) also made their ways to Day 2 thanks to this final flight, along with 2023 Winamax Poker Tour winner Sébastien Lesoif (112,000).
However this last opportunity didn’t allow Gus Hansen, Davidi Kitai, Pierre Calamusa, Michael Rodrigues or Nicolas Vayssieres to qualify for Day 2.

With Joao Vieira's elimination, there are now 107 remaining players. They are qualified for Day 2 and in the money.
Stay tuned as PokerNews provides chip counts and the recap of the day.
Nemo Israel raised from the button and Joao Vieira, in the small blind, three-bet to 130,000, leaving himself 58,000 behind the line. Israel moved all in and Vieira called off the bet for his effective stack of 188,000.
Joao Vieira: A♥4♥
Nemo Israel: J♣J♠
The 5♦6♦6♥ flop proved no help for Vieira, however, the 4♠ turn breathed some life into his prospects, The 7♠ river changed nothing and ensured Vieira was today's bubble boy.
The remaining 107 will progress to Day 2, having all made the money.
