Day 1c Completed
The final flight of the Fall Poker Classic 2018 $1,000 Main Event drew a total of 153 entries, with only 31 remaining by the end of the day. The biggest stack moving on from Day 1c is Canada's Vadim Rozin, bagging an impressive 349,000 in chips.
Rozin played most of the day around average and it was not until the last few levels of the night that he started to heat up. The Thornhill native ran over his final table, applying an immense amount of pressure to the players who were trying to grind it out to Day 2. He was no stranger to the three-bet and was not afraid to gamble when needed.
Coming in right behind the chipleader is Kenneth Luther with a respectable 326,000 in chips. Luther bluffed a large hand earlier in the night with ace high and that put him well over the average. The Concord Township native catapulted his chip stack near the top when he busted well-known pro Andy Spears with an ace on the river late in the day.
This flight, unlike the others, had a three figure outcome. That lead to a much deep style of play later in the day, with many more larger stacks moving on than the previous two flights. There will be 19 six figure stacks moving on from this flight compared to the 12 combined in the previous flights.
Other notable stacks to move on from Day 1c include Candian Victor Adams (301,000), Thomas Babiarz (291,000), early in the day chipleader Thomas Tucker (247,500), Nate Kross (234,500), Mario Mansour (215,500), and Brian Ballentine (206,000).
The 153 entries on Day 1c brought the total for the tournament up to 249 combined slips sold for this event. There will only be 45 moving on from the three total flights and they will all be informed of the payouts at the beginning of Day 2.
There was some well-known players to try their luck but fail to make it through and that list includes Andy Spears, Henry Zou, 2017 Fall Poker Classic champion Guy Klass, Matt Marcinkiewicz, Joseph [Removed:340], and Sharman Olshan.
The PokerNews reporting team will be bringing you all of the live coverage for the remainder of the Fall Poker Classic Main Event.
