WCOOP-37-H: $5,200 PLO [6-Max, High Roller]
Day 1 Completed
Another high stakes tournament of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker 2020 has wrapped up for the night as the money bubble burst in WCOOP-37-H: $5,200 PLO [6-Max, High Roller] to leave 14 survivors out of a field of 125 entries. They are all guaranteed a portion of the $625,000 prize pool with $12,900 locked up so far, and the winner can look forward to a payday of $140,506.
Almost half of the field consisted of re-entries as 69 unique players re-entered a total of 59 times - 44.8% of the field were re-entries. A second or third entry was not uncommon and this was also the case for Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas, who entered mid-way through the registration period.
Bujtas needed to fire a third bullet to eventually run up a stack and finish Day 1 at the top of the leaderboard with 2,123,462. Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb picked a different strategy and entered towards the end of the late registration period, quickly doubled two times and spun that stack up further to claim 1,916,970 for the final day.
Third in chips is Sweden's "jedimaster82" with 1,313,792 and another two players bagged up more than a million in chips including Andras "probirs" Nemeth (1,044,947) and Richard "raconteur" Gryko (1,042,894). Portuguese poker pro Joao "Naza114" Vieira won two WCOOP PLO titles in 2019 and made it through with 945,333 on his only bullet.
Some of the other survivors include Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank (696,078), Adam "fishbones11" Fyshe (573,517) and Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich (377,574). The last player to bust without anything to show for was Brazil's Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, who had already won two titles in the current festival.

The Action of the Day
The start of the event was delayed by 10 minutes and throughout the registration period, the entries and re-entries kept on coming with a maximum of eight tables running at the same time. One of the first players to bust was Finland's "Aku1206" but they then re-entered and became one of the early front runners.
Kahle "ROFLshove" Burns sent over his stack twice in quick succession to the Finn and was also the first player to run out of chances to re-enter when he was eliminated in a three-way all-in with Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas and "Ahhh Is It?". That spelled the end for Bujtas, too, who then re-entered and ran up a stack in quick succession.
Plenty of Scandinavian mixed game aficionados took a shot on Day 1 and many of them came up short such as Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen, Niklas "Lena900" Astedt, "XD89lol<3", Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard, Jens "Jeans89" Kyllonen, Eelis "EEE27" Pärssinen and Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen.
Pärssinen was among those to send over the chips to Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb. In the first hand, both players held aces and Deeb turned a straight with his two other cards to leave Pärssinen short. Shortly after, the Finn got it in preflop and ran into the aces of Deeb.
Jouhkimainen, one of the 2019 WCOOP PLO winners, came up short of the money by a few spots and Bujtas then knocked out PLO cash game legend "Venividi1993" when a wrap got there against turned two pair. The next player to bust in an "aces versus aces dilemma" was Russia's "le kork" as Bujtas claimed another victim and the field raced towards the money bubble.
Only 16 players went on the last break and within minutes of returning to the seats, the money bubble had burst. Espen "locomi" Myrmo came up second-best with kings against the queens of Andras "probirs" Nemeth and Bujtas knocked out a short-stacked Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski moments later.
All remaining 14 players will return the following day at 1.05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) to determine a champion and the returning blinds will be 8,000/16,000.
The final day of WCOOP-37-H: $5,200 PLO [6-Max, High Roller] will be streamed on the PokerStars Twitch channel with cards-up coverage and commentary on a delay of at least 20 minutes. All PokerNews live updates will be published according to that delay. You can also check out all the other PokerStars WCOOP 2020 highlights, results and live updates right here!

Chip leader Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas raised to 40,000 from under the gun and the action then reached the far-shortest stack Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski on the button, who moved all in for 87,428. The blinds got out of the way and Nemeth called.
Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski:
Chip leader Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas:
On a board of , the queens remained in the lead, and just like that the bubble burst as Dzivielevski is the last player to leave without anything to show for.
That wraps up the event for tonight and the chip counts, as well as a recap of today's action are to follow.

Andras "probirs" Nemeth opened the action with a raise to 40,000 and Espen "locomi" Myrmo three-bet the pot out of the small blind for 136,000 with 139,027 behind. Nemeth pulled the trigger and Myrmo called all-in.
Espen "locomi" Myrmo:
Andras "probirs" Nemeth:
There was trouble brewing on the flop as Nemeth picked up a gutshot straight draw. Instead, he spiked the turn for a set and the river failed to improve Myrmo.

The final 16 players are on a scheduled five-minute break and Day 1 will conclude when the money bubble has burst. Only the top 14 finishers will receive a portion of the prize pool.
From the under-the-gun position, Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb min-raised to 32,000 and Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski called in the big blind to see a flop of . Dzivielevski check-called a first bet of 32,000 and did so again for 84,555 on the turn.
The pot until the river had grown to 305,110 and Dzivielevski elected to check once more. Deeb now bet 208,000 and after investing a portion of his time bank, Dzivielevski called. Deeb turned over for the flopped nuts and won the big pot, nearly closing the gap to chip leader Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas on the same table.

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas made it 35,000 to go from the cutoff and "le kork" three-bet to 126,000 on the button with 165,804 behind. Bujtas simply reraised the pot and "le kork" called all-in.
"le kork":
Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas:
The flop brought no drama yet but the turn gave Bujtas a set of fours and left "le kork" with no outs whatsoever, ending their run in 17th place as a meaningless rolled off on the river.
