$25,000 PCA High Roller
Day 1 Completed
Besides the PokerStars Players Championship, the $25,000 PCA High Roller has broken the record for the biggest-field high roller event of the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in The Bahamas. This event wrapped up early this morning with 70 players remaining out of a field of 144, generating a prize pool of $3,422,160 and counting. The last tournament of this caliber buy-in also had a huge turnout with a total of 140 runners, and late registration for this event doesn't end until play resumes at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Leading the way after 10 levels of play on Day 1 is Ognyan Dimov with 356,000, followed closely by Adam Hendrix with 317,500 and Anthony Hu with 242,500. Elio Fox and Ehsan Amiri rounded out the top five with 224,000 and 219,500, respectively. Those are hardly the only notable names in this star-studded event as Michael Addamo, Adrian Mateos, Dan Smith, and Mike Watson have all made it to Day 2. Pedro Neves, who was runner-up in the PCA Main Event, has also found a bag.

The tournament started with just a few tables but that rapidly multiplied to six and beyond as more players put up the $25,000 stake. Most of the field was eliminated on their first entry but were quick to get back in the mix, especially since it is one of the last events of the series.
The second of this three-day event will commence at 1:00 p.m. local time with the Level 11 blinds being 1,000/1,500/1,500. Late registration remains open until the start of play, so expect the field to grow during that time.

On a heads-up completed board of , Dan Smith was first to act and he bet out 18,000 in to the pot of 19,000.
His opponent, Lander Lijo, then went deep into the tank.
After using several time banks, Lijo made the call and was shown by Smith for just queen-high.
The table went silent as Lijo then flipped over for ace-high to take down the pot, which left Smith with under 30,000.
Fortunately for Smith, he pulled off a successful squeeze play the very next hand to bring him back to 35,000.
