No, you're not reading what we wrote yesterday, Phil Laak has just done it again. For the second day in a row, Laak wona heat at the PartyPoker Premier League IV. This is only the second heat played and Laak has already locked up 32 points, seemingly cementing himself at the final table with these two finishes. He's also earned himself $64,000 total.
Laak's day wasn't going as well as yesterday until he decided to mix it up with JC Tran, who looked like he was going to win the match when play got to four- and five-handed. Laak won a big all in against Tran to double up and moments later won another huge all in to send the defending champion home in fourth place. From there, it was more run good for Laak on his way to another victory.
Four of the eight players that played yesterday played today as well. There was also four new faces in the mix. The new standings look as follows.

Laak won the first heat and is looking to go back-to-back here at The M Casino in Las Vegas. If he does, you can almost cement his name in for the final table. De Wolfe has done very well in recovering from yesterday's performance and locked up at least 11 points here. Also remember that Laak was an alternate for this event, coming in to replace Doyle Brunson as a late scratch. Now he's running the show.
