Vasyl Zabrodskyy ended the day with the overall chip lead after an action-packed day. Zabrodskyy bagged 1,390,000 after 22 levels. He is closely followed by Giuseppe Caridi with 1,120,000. Two Croatians managed to cash in the tournament and both happen to have the same last name. Marko Ivkic and Josip Ivkic both played the tournament and they both ended up in the money. Marko ended in 35th place on Day 1a where he cashed for €530 and he added another €550 to that after he finished in 37th place on Day 1b. Josip did a bit better and he finished in 21st.
