Day 2 Completed
Sixty-one hopefuls returned for Day 2 of the August 2019 Colorado Poker Championship $1,100 Main Event, and after just shy of eight one-hour levels of play, just nine remain. Barb Visher leads the pack after a Day 2 that saw her make numerous massive hands en route to bagging a total chip stack of 2,399,000.
Visher entered the day with 224,000 in chips, chipping up slightly before the rush happened. It started with her cracking Michael O’Toole’s pocket aces by hitting Broadway on the turn with her ace-jack. She then found herself over the half-million chip mark, and from there she knocked out Eddie Konarske and Andrew Dea to get close to seven figures. She won her biggest pot of the night during the final two tables when her pocket jacks flopped a set and held to secure to more knockouts and vault her over two million.
Second in chips is Nate Zoller (2,069,000), who was the only other player to finish over two million. Zoller finds himself at his second $1,100 Main Event final table in as many months, after taking a chip lead into last month’s Heartland Poker Tour event en route to a fourth-place finish for $61,915.

The top 36 players out of the 61 who returned made it into the money. A handful of known players hit that mark but fell short of the final table. Some of those players included reigning champion Mike Itoafa (31st place - $2,401), Nick Pupillo (24th place - $2,881), Adrian Buckley (13th place - $4,577), and Ben Keeline (12th place - $6,082).
Cards will be in the air for Day 3 on Monday at 11 a.m. local time with 17:21 remaining on the clock for Level 22 (8,000/16,000/16,000). With the shortest stack still having almost 40 big blinds, there is a lot of room for play and action is sure to be plenty.

On one of the first hands of the unofficial final table, action folded to Bobby Sanoubane in the small blind and he raised to 65,000. Brandon Schwulst reraised all in for 231,000 from the big blind and Sanoubane called.
Brandon Schwulst:
Bobby Sanoubane:
Schwulst was in great position to double up as the dealer brought a flop of . It gave him kings, but brought him a sweat for the spade draw that Sanoubane picked up. The turn sealed his fate, coming to give Sanoubane a flush. The river fell to complete the runout and Schwulst became the 10th place finisher.
WIth Schwulst's elimination, the final table of nine has been reached and play has stopped for the day. Players are bagging their chips and official chip counts and a recap of the day's action will be provided shortly.

"Get the clipboard!" said Matt Voorhees, signifying he was all in and that action would be ensuing. In total, he was all in for 137,000.
Steve Wilke had limped from the hijack and Jay Jesse limped on the button behind him. Voorhees then shoved from the small blind to put action on Nate Zoller, who was in the big blind and put out a call.
Voorhees added more commentary commentary about the manner in which Zoller called: "Oh, with a glancing look at the players left to act!"
Wilke then folded , thinking he was last to act, and Jay immediately folded behind.
Matt Voorhees:
Nate Zoller:
"I was supposed to be live!" said Zoller after seeing he was, in fact, dominated.
"We shall see," said Voorhees.
The dealer brought the flop , resulting in more reaction from the two players as the straight brought a flop for Zoller. Voorhees was now down to his last two cards, needing to pick up a king to improve and double. The turn and river came to spell the end for Voorhees as he became the 11th place finisher of the tournament.
The remaining 10 players are in the process of moving to the unofficial final table, where play will continue for one more elimination before the clock is stopped and chips are bagged until Monday's final table.

Wendy Freedman was in the hijack and opened to 35,000. Action folded around to Ben Keeline, who announced he was all in. He pushed forward his stack of 378,000 and Freedman remarked about the situation being a disgusting one as she dropped a chip into the middle to call and tabled her hand.
The dealer missed the call and picked up the hand and put it face down on the top of the muck for a split second, without the cards ever leaving contact with his hand. The table reacted immediately and he turned them face up and placed them back in front of Freedman just as quickly.
"Can I take that back?" Freedman said, joking about how she may have rather folded than gone to the races with Keeline.
"I'll let you know in a second," Keeline said, with the dealer fanning a flop of along the way. The turn and river quickly followed, resulting in Freedman's pocket nines remaining best as Keeline was eliminated from the tournament in 12th place.

Jay Jesse opened to 45,000 from early position and action folded around to Adrian Buckley, who went all in for 213,000 from the small blind. Jesse called.
Adrian Buckley:
Jay Jesse:
Buckley was ahead with three immediate outs as the flop came . He then found himself needing to fade Jay's newly-acquired gutshot Broadway outs, and was unable to do so on the turn , leaving him now in need of hitting one of the three remaining aces in the deck for a chop. He was unable to do so as the river fell , becoming the most recent elimination as a result.

Tanner Stiverson opened the action with a raise to 30,000 from the hijack and Don Angstead was on the button and went over the top of him, putting his last 220,000 into the middle. Barb Visher now had action on her in the small blind and she stood up, thinking for over a minute before calling. Stiverson then called as well, giving Angstead the potential prospects of a triple as Visher and Stiverson continued for a side pot.
The flop came and Visher checked. Stiverson checked behind, bringing the turn . Visher immediately announced she was all in and Stiverson put in his last 180,000 or so to commit himself.
Don Angstead:
Tanner Stiverson:
Barb Visher:
Visher's flopped set of jacks was a big favorite, needing to fade one of the remaining eight diamonds in the deck to secure the double knockout and the massive pot. The river came to do just that, sending both Angstead and Stiverson to the payout desk in the process.
