Pateychuk Wins Merit Poker Winterfest Main Event; Isle Poker Classic Main Event Concludes
Earlier this week, the 2014 Merit Poker Winterfest and the 2014 Isle Poker Classic concluded, crowning two winners for nearly $150,000 each.
The Isle Poker Classic $1,090 Main Event took place at the Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park in Pompano Beach, Florida and boasted a guarantee of $300,000. There were 566 total entrants in the event, generating a prize pool of over $500,000.
Heading into Day 3 of the event, 40 players remained with Peter Striano leading the way. The top 54 spots earned a cash, meaning players were well into the money. Striano went on to finish the event in sixth place and earn $21,791.
Emerging victorious on the additional Day 4 was Miami, Florida's Farid Jattin. For the victory, Jattin earned $147,160. He defeated long-time poker player Manny Minaya, who earned $86,598 for second place.

Other notables to finish in the money were Ebony Kenney (24th - $3,679), Lily Kiletto (33rd - $3,113), and Matt Waxman (35th - $3,113).
The other big event to wrap up was the Merit Poker Winterfest $3,300 Main Event, surpassing the $500,000 guarantee with 191 entries and 33 reentries.
Coming out on top to earn the $145,472 first-place prize was former European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour champion Andrey Pateychuk. Pateychuk bested Omar Lakhdari in heads-up play to earn the title, which proved to be his first six-figure score since winning WPT Prague in 2011. Lakhdari earned $102,071.

Pateychuk also cashed two other events at the Merit Poker Winterfest, winning the $660 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack for $9,894 and taking 10th in the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack for $2,421.
Atanas Gueorguiev, who currently sits second on Bulgaria's all-time money list, finished in 20th place for $6,492.
